Take them places they have not been...Show them things they have not seen.

We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give. Winston Churchill
Service-Learning: Learning That Matters
Service-learning connects classroom learning with real community needs. Students of all ages apply academic knowledge to projects involving education, public safety, the environment, and other community concerns.
Through these experiences, students strengthen practical skills, build character, explore careers, and become active citizens. For example, a water-quality project allows students to practice science, laboratory analysis, communication, and problem-solving while providing a valuable service to their community.
Learning leaves the classroom—and changes lives.
